I've followed Shellenberger for a few years because I want to understand the issue of climate change from someone who's not just well-educated about it, but sensible about mitigation efforts too. He's that guy. Lately his posts have supplied crucial wisdom about the looming energy disaster that will hit Europe this winter. Follow him to keep on top of this issue and some of his other areas of expertise, such as the homelessness crisis plaguing West Coast cities.
I became aware of Bari Weiss when she left the NYT with a beautifully written and painfully honest resignation letter. She is a free thinker who you can't pin down politically (I love that.) She believes what she thinks is right and moral regardless of which "party" her audience may think she aligns with. Her writing is spectacular but Bari's skill as an editor is evident in the writing of her guest columnists too. This is a great follow. Buy a subscription!
Adam is a beloved former colleague who has started his own marketing agency for mission-driven organizations called Joy Ethic. I can't think of a better company name for a man who lives out his Christian walk with purpose and of course, joy. I think you'll enjoy what he writes about.
Matt Taibbi is on the list of journalists I regularly read (with Bari Weiss and Michael Shellenberger) because he's independent of a big organization. That means he's free to analyze a situation and write about it with the kind of candor that's sorely missing from mainstream media outlets. It's not because I think he's right about everything, I simply want to know what he's saying about the big issues. His view will be all his and no one else's.
